Fly Up High Definition Skincare worth USD 150 | are they worth it? Skin Activating Treatment Essence, Advanced Laser Whitening Serum, Hydrating Cream

This is my first time using such expensive skincare line OMG
Thank you to Amabie I get to test and try my very first high end skincare line from the brand Fly Up. It is a Taiwanese beauty brand that uses French technology. The brand sounds interesting as I've never heard of them before.

This skincare line was sent to me by Amabie in exchange of my honest review on their website. You can check out my reviews on my Amabie profile HERE or you can simply search for the brand 'Fly Up' on Amabie to find my reviews on them as well as reviews of other Fly Up products.
Thank you so much, Amabie love!!!!! I was feeling surprised and grateful to have given the opportunity. I have been told that this set is worth USD 150 *jaw drops*.

Now onto the review:

Reflective silver boxes~

I like that the MFG dates are shown at the bottom of the box, rather than on the product itself. It is so convenient especially when buying them in stores. You don't want to buy products that past their expiry dates.

On each of the product's boxes, there is a beautiful stamp that sealed the box when the products are new and unopened. It says "Fly Up Beauty Color". I think the stamp is to prove that the products are authentic.

I am going to review the products according to their sequence in a skincare routine.
Skin Activating Treatment Essence -> Advanced Laser Whitening Serum -> Hydrating Cream

Skin Activating Treatment Essence

USD 36 at Alibaba

Hard sturdy glass packaging~ the details are printed on the bottle which looks luxe instead of using stickers. It features a reflective cap and a small hole to dispense the essence out.

I am not sure how long are the products' longevity after opening since none are mentioned or printed on their box and packaging.

"Light and watery. This treatment essence penetrates into the skin surface." - As soon on the box. it is clear and smells lightly of roses.

HD Professional Skin Activating Treatment Essence 125ml

This skin activating treatment essence with a mix of Niacinamide and Bellis perennis flower extract exfoliates dead skin cells and impurities. It helps the skin texture is more refined, firmness is improved, and radiance is beautifully elevated. Its clarifying formula prepares the face for the rest of your skincare regimen. source

*Do you guys notice the butterfly logo at the bottom of the box? It is so pretty!

glycerin, rosa damascena flower water, sodium pca, panthenol, niacinamide, aqua, vit b5, methylpropanediol, jojoba wax peg-120 esters, bellis perennis(daisy) flower extract, propylene glycol, chamomilla recutita flower extract, pyrus malus fruit extract, sodium lactate, arginine, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, imperata cylindrica root extract, sodium hyaluronate, rosa damescena, hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate, mulberry bark extract, butylene glycol, butylene glycol, algae extract, capric triglyceride

Ingredients to Highlight

Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water & Rosa Damescena(Rose) - there are 2 rose ingredients. "Rose water has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, get rid of acne, dermatitis and eczema. It is a great cleanser and aids in removing oil and dirt accumulated in clogged pores", says Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj, Skincare Expert. 3.

Niacinamide - anti-inflammatory, anti aging, whitening, "firming and clarifying skin"- (source)

Daisy Flower Extract - "reduces the appearance of dark spots, lightening and brightening the complexion, naturally" (source)

Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract - anti-inflammatory and soothing.

Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract - "apple extract also helps natural cell exfoliation, it encourages a healthy rate of skin cell replacement. This can help improve, for example, the symptoms of acne and psoriasis" - source

Mulberry Bark Extract - brightening

Algae Extract - has a comedogenic level of 5 (very high) which tend to cause blackheads, making pores clogged and cause acne.

pH level is between 5~6

My Thoughts

I use this after the toner stage. I pour a sufficient amount on my palms and tap in the essence on my whole face as well as massaging some on my neck. It is not sticky after application, absorbs fast and leave a matte finish, I can quickly continue with my next step.

I think it helps to clarify my skin although the effect is intangible. In terms of skin refining, I don't really see any difference as my skin texture still look the same. It helps with making my skin firm and contribute to radiance after applying.

I don't know what other of its effects I can say because it is not much and I feel that the product just works simple with me, nothing special. It gives me an impression that it is just another essence. It provides a bit of moisturizing layer, definitely not enough to provide hydration for the whole day and night when used alone. You need to add an additional moisturizer(s).

It doesn't break me out which is great. I will be bummed if a $36 essence broke me out as I am unable to continue using it.

Anyways I feel that it somehow contributes in the forming of clogged pores near my jawline, thats where the clogged pores main zone is at for my face. It contains Algae Extract which has a comedogenic level of 5 (very high) in contributing formation of blackheads, clogged pores and acne. Eventhough the ingredient is listed 2nd last on the list, it might just help to produce clogged pores with prolonged use.

In conclusion, I choose to stop using this essence, I already have enough clogged pores sigh. I am going to finish the remaining on my body. Who dares to throw away an expensive essence haha.

My Final Thoughts

This essence does nothing impactful for me. For the price, I definitely won't purchase, it is expensive!

It doesn't work greatly on my skin, probably because my skin is immune to effects of roses and niacinamide. If your skin likes roses and niacinamide (which my skin doesn't) so maybe splurging on this essence might be worthy for you.

Seriously I can't even think of other things to say about this product. Not amusing for the price.

"The advanced formula contains a unique whitening laser complex that sinks into the deep layers of your skin. Melanin production is regulated at the source, preventing spots even before they appear. Protect against daytime damage and harness the power of the night. Naturally derived botanicals work with your skin’s own daily cycle to help repair and prevent the appearance of existing dark spots is reduced." - source

USD 18 ~ 26 at Alibaba

This one is definitely not glass. Has a reflective body, light but hard packaging and features a dropper.

The colour is lightly cloudy and smells lightly like the Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask. It absorbs fast and leaves a matte finish.

glycerin, leontopodium alpinum extract, sodium benzonate, potassium sorbate, sucrose palmitate, tocopheryl acetate, glyceryl linoleate, sodium hyaluronate, phenoxyethanol, potassium sorbate, citric acid, sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, scutellaria alpina leaf extract, sodium benzoate, tranexamic acid, ceramide 3, ceramide 6 II, ceramide 1, tetrapeptide-30, alpha arbutin, chamomile

I don't know if it is a duplicate or what but sodium hyaluronate is listed twice

Ingredients to Highlight

There are a couple of spot lightening and moisturizing ingredients.

Whitening (alpha arbutin, chamomile - anti-inflammatory too and tranexamic acid)
Citric Acid - a form of AHA to exfoliate skin
Moisturizing (sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid)
Retaining moisture (the ceramidesssss: ceramide 3, ceramide 6 II, ceramide 1 and tetrapeptide-30)

Sorry for the crappy photo quality for the showing the pH, the photo above was taken for my IG stories so the quality is mehhh

My Thoughts

I like the consistency of the serum, it absorbs fast into the skin so I can immediately carry on with my next skincare step. It makes the face completely matte, I personally think it is only lightly moisturizing and not hydrating at all despite having hyaluronic acids (my skin doesn't react with hyaluronic acid). In terms of retaining moisture since it has ceramides and a peptide ingredient, I am not so sure either cause I feel that this product is not even moisturizing.

and In terms of lightening my dark spots.....none at all.

I have been using it for a month now or a little more than that. I am focusing on this one stubborn acne scar and it still hasn't fade before and since I started implementing this serum in my routine. The acne scar's size is gradually decreasing but it still haven't fully disappear until now.

It is too bad that the good spot lightening ingredients such as the alpha arbutin(especially!) and tranexamic acid are very low in the ingredients list. Arbutin is listed 2nd last in the ingredient.

My Final Thoughts

As an expensive serum, I would've expected the powerhouse spot lightening ingredients to be listed high. It is not the case with this one and it doesn't even help with spot lightening even one bit (I am harsh like that).

Nothing special about this serum too. Not moisturizing, hydrating and lightening. I feel like the good ingredients that they've put in are a waste.

I won't purchase this serum.

Fly Up High Definition Hydrating Cream - 30ml

A silky cream that diffuses a blend of moisturizers, antioxidants and vitamins into the inner layers of the skin to enhance comfort and hydration.

I cannot find the price of this one.

Lightweight plastic body with a reflective lid. The lid is big enough to be used as a mirror. I refer to it as a mirror sometimes haha.

Instead of cream, it feels more like a gel. It is lightweight, silky and when massaged into skin, it actually gives a bit of a sheen finish.

In the tub it looks light orange but when scoop it out it looks cloudy. It has a distinctive vitamins.....or orange peels.

OKAY this is the confusing part. The ingredients list on its box and the cream itself are NOT THE SAME.

I honestly do not know which to refer so I am just going straight to my review.

There you go. I despise it when products claim that they are this and that when they actually do not live it to its claims.

I applied the cream as the last moisturizer step during the day and after a couple of hours, my skin started to feel dry. I knew I needed to add in an extra moisturizer by that time.

Don't care about its price and the product itself, I already emptied it now and totally won't purchase in the future.

Overall Thoughts on the Fly Up HD Skincare

All of the products above unfortunately do not work impressively on me. I don't know what makes them expensive. Are they focusing more on the packaging that their effectiveness? I don't know. And also I spot punctuation error in the ingredients list of the Essence, as well as an ingredient duplicate in the serum's ingredient list and A DIFFERENT INGREDIENTS SET for the hydrating cream????????? I don't know anymore. The products' longevity period after opening is not even stated,

Not worth the money, not worth the splurge, not worth the waste either.

I am unfortunate with products sometimes but this one is just TOO unfortunate, considering that they are expensive.

Thank you for reading~ I wonder if this skincare line works better on someone else. I would like to know how are the results if you are using these products too!
